St. Bonifacius, MN – Today, the women's soccer team from North Central University (NCU) visited the Crown College (CC) Polars in St. Bonifacius. The last time they faced the Polars, the Rams suffered a 3-1 loss back in early October on NCU's Senior Day. Riddled with injury and illness, North Central struggled to keep pace with Crown as they fell 7-0 in their second season meeting.
Sophomore defender
Madeline Lowe got her first career start in net for the Rams in place of the injured
Erma Ramirez. Crown went to work early as they scored the first goal of the game in the 3rd minute of action. As play continued, North Central's defense hunkered down to slow the Polars' attack. Eventually, Crown broke through once more in the 29th minute to score their second goal and take a 2-0 lead. The Polars started to pour it on late in the half as they rattled off 4 more scores to take a commanding 6-0 lead into the half.
NCU did a better job in the second half to limit Crown's quality scoring opportunities. Goalkeeper
Madeline Lowe settled in to record 6 second-half saves for the Rams. Midfielder
Paula Capili was the busiest Ram offensively, recording 3 shot attempts and her team's only scoring opportunities with 2 shots on goal. The Polars tacked on one more goal in the 76th minute to make it 7-0 in favor of the home team. Crown outshot North Central 24-4 on the day as they went on to win 7-0.
