Morris, MN -- The North Central University Men's and Women's Track and Field teams took on the final day of the 2024 UMAC Outdoor Championships held at the University of Minnesota Morris. The men finished in 6th place and the women finished in 7th place overall. See the full results

Sprints:
On the women's side, junior
Serena Lanes led the team in the 100-meter and 400-meter dash with final times of 13.42 (7th Place) and 1:02.17 (5th Place).
For the men, senior
Derek Burgin shined with a podium finish in the 400-meter dash with a time of 51.60 seconds (3rd Place).
Distance:
For the women's team,
Jessica Redman led the way in the 1500-meter race with a finish of 5:21.64 (7th place). In the 5000-meter run,
Avah Kraushaar ran a new personal best time of 20:43.26 (8th Place).
On the men's side, sophomore
Garrett Converse recorded a 4:24.26 in the 1500m race (9th Place). In the 5000m run,
David Bjorge and
Michael Herr-Zielke both set new PRs with times of 18:14.77 and 18:38.31, respectively.
Throws:
For the women,
MiCayla Jones placed 9th in the shot put with a new personal best mark of 10.01 meters (9th Place).
Grace King and
MiCayla Jones both competed in the women's discus throw, reaching marks of 26.09m and 25.53m, respectively.
Jumps:
Kristen Ragasa was the star of the women's squad as she led in the triple jump with a distance of 10.07 meters (4th place) and a new program record of 1.42 meters in the high jump (5th Place).
Chloe Bjorlin set a new personal record in the triple jump with a distance of 9.45m (9th Place).
In the men's high jump,
Isaac Weiers jumped a new season best 1.86 meters for a 3rd place finish.
Nehemiah Juaire came in 5th place with a mark of 1.76 meters.
Relays:
In the women's 4x100 meter relay,
Chloe Bjorlin,
Hope Naegelen,
Lydia Schroeder, and
Nevaeh Henderson took 5th place finishing in 53.13 seconds.
Looking Ahead:
North Central Track and Field has 10 athletes competing at the NCCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships next week on May 8-10th in Columbia, SC at Columbia International University.
