2024 Season Highlights

Competed in the outdoor season for the Rams... Ran a career-best performance in the 400 meter in 51.55 seconds at the Gary Wilson Invitational... Earned a 3rd place finish in the men's 400m race at the UMAC Outdoor Championships with a time of 51.60... A part of the 4th place 4x400 meter relay team at the championship meet with a time of 3:38.07... UMAC Indoor & Outdoor T&F Academic All-Conference... NCCAA Scholar Athlete... UMAC Outdoor Track & Field Sportsmanship Award... NCU Men's Track & Field Team MVP... Named Ram of the Week once... Team Captain.


2023 Season Highlights

Competed in both the indoor and outdoor season for the Rams... At the UMAC Indoor Championships, Burgin had four top 8 finishes in his events... Completed the 200 meter dash in 8th place and 3rd in the 400 meter with a time of 52.72 seconds... Helped the both the 4 x 200 meter relay and the 4 x 400 meter relay to two 2nd place finishes... In the outdoor season, hit his best performance in the 400 meter in 53.04 seconds at the UMAC Outdoor Championships... Qualified for the NCCAA National Championships in the 4 x 400 meter relay, finishing the season with a school record of 3:32.01 or 10th place. 

2022 Season Highlights

Ran both indoor and outdoor track and field for the Rams... Had two top 8 finished at the UMAC Indoor Track and Field Championships in both the 400 meter (6th place, 54.66) and the 200 meter (8th place, 24.29)... Also helped the 4 x 200 meter relay team to a third place finish at the Championships... In the outdoor season, ran his personal best in the 200 meter in a time of 23.60 seconds at the UWRF Falcon Invite... At the UMAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships, Burgin finished 2nd place in the 400 meter in a season-best time of 51.85 seconds... Also lead the 4 x 400 meter relay team to a 2nd place finish for the Rams... Named team Captain since his sophomore year at North Central.

Prep Career

Competed in track and field at Moline High School... Earned second place in the 300 meter hurdles his junior year at the conference meet as well as helped his team to a first place finish in the 4x400 meter relay... Participated in Youth Group, Chik-Fil-A Leadership Academy, the Food Drive, and BSU.

Personal

Born December 29th, 2001 in Moline, IL... Parents are Ray and Cindy Zaragoza... Both his dad and mom are retired... Has two siblings, Quintessia (25) and Deaja (12)... Majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies at North Central.
