UMAC Announces 2025 Golf Postseason Awards

St. Paul, MN – The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) announced its list of this year's golf award winners today. This year's awards were nominated and voted on by the conference head coaches. Five total Rams were honored with conference accolades this season. Kaden Dunton was named Second Team All-Conference in his first year as a Ram. Greg Salinas, Joe Stanton, and Brooklyn Barton all received All-Conference Honorable Mention. Stanton and Claire Nelsen were the recipients of this year's UMAC Sportsmanship Award.

Brooklyn Barton (Fr. | Roseville, CA) was awarded All-Conference Honorable Mention in her freshman campaign. Barton competed in all 7 events for the Rams this fall. She posted a season stroke average of 96.4 to lead her team. Her lowest round was a 90 (+18) on the second day of the UMAC Championships in Becker, MN. Barton's best overall event was also the UMAC Championship Meet, where she shot rounds of 93, 90, and 96 for a three-day total of 279 (+67), placing her tied for 15th place in her first conference championship event.

Claire Nelsen (Fr. | Elkton, MN) received the UMAC Sportsmanship Award for the North Central Women's Golf squad. The newcomer had a season average of 110.3 and a career-best round of 100 (+28) on day three of the UMAC Championship in Becker, MN. 

Kaden Dunton (Fr. | Santa Cruz, CA) earned Second Team All-Conference in his first year as a Ram. Dunton competed in all 8 events for NCU this fall. On the season, he had a stroke average of 76.0 to lead the team. His best round of the fall was a 69 (-1) at the Viking Invite in Waseca, MN. Kaden's best overall event was the UMAC Championships, where he shot a team-best 76, 74, and 82 for a total of 232 (+16) and finished tied for 7th place in his first conference championship event.

Greg Salinas (So. | Laredo, TX) was awarded All-Conference Honorable Mention in his sophomore campaign. Salinas competed in all 8 events for North Central this fall. The sophomore averaged 80.0 through all his rounds. He shot a career-best 73 (+1) at the UMAC Preview in Becker, MN. His best overall event was the Edgewood Classic, where he shot a 75 and 81 (+14). At the conference championship meet, Greg finished tied for 17th place.

Joe Stanton (Jr. | Inver Grove Heights, MN) was also named All-Conference Honorable Mention and was given the UMAC Sportsmanship Award in his first season at NCU. The junior competed in all 8 events during the fall season. He shot a season-best round of 75 (+3) at the MLC Invite in Buffalo Lake, MN. Stanton finished tied for 12th at this year's conference championships, recording rounds of 78, 80, and 79 (+21).
