UMAC Announces 2026 Softball Awards List

St. Paul, MN -- This morning, the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) announced the award winners for the 2026 softball season. The North Central University (NCU) softball team is represented by senior team captain Erica Gilles, who earned the UMAC Sportsmanship Award.

Erica Gilles (Sr., P/1B | Monroe, WA) was awarded the UMAC All-Sportsmanship Award. Gilles embodied leadership and consistency throughout the 2026 season. She appeared in 29 games with 26 starts, finishing second on the team in batting average (.313) and fielding percentage (.940) while slashing .313/.421/.344 at the plate. She totaled 20 hits, 14 RBIs, 12 runs scored, two doubles, eight walks, and four hit-by-pitches, while also leading the team defensively with 85 total putouts behind the plate. In the circle, Gilles appeared in eight games with four starts, totaling 23.1 innings pitched with 11 strikeouts, one complete game, and one win. Throughout the season, Gilles consistently demonstrated toughness, leadership, and sportsmanship, serving as a steady presence for the Rams in every aspect of the game.
