ST. PAUL, Minn - The North Central University (NCU) men's tennis team took on established regional power in the University of St. Thomas on Saturday. NCU battled through each match and gained valuable experience playing a reputable program in St. Thomas. The Tommies took all nine matchups on their way to victory.
Micah Peterson led the way in the top singles spot for the Rams as he fell to Jordan Schenck 0-6, 1-6.
Noah Ramsby played in the second singles spot and dropped a tough match 0-6, 0-6.
Judah Smith played in the third singles spot for the Rams and fell 0-6, 1-6. Rodrigo de Mendoza played in the fourth singles matchup and fell 1-6, 0-6. Josh Ekong,
Josiah Williams, and
Ken Schrock rounded out the singles players for the Rams as each fell in straight sets against the Tommies.
In the doubles matches
Noah Ramsby and Rodrigo de Mendoza led the way for the Rams as they dropped a hard fought match 1-8.
Judah Smith and Josh Ekong fell 1-8 in the second doubles matchup.
Josiah Williams and
Ken Schrock rounded out the doubles participants as they fell 0-8 in their matchup.
The Rams will look to take from their experience today as they will be in action again on March 23rd as they play host to Bethany Lutheran College in an Upper Midwest Athletic Conference matchup.Â
