Box Score 2 TUCSON, Ariz. – North Central University (NCU) opened their 2019 season with a doubleheader against Baldwin Wallace out of the Ohio Athletic Conference. NCU struggled to find their bats in the first game as the Yellowjackets jumped on them early. The Rams scored three late but fell by a score of 16-3 in the first game. Baldwin Wallace was able to pull their momentum at the plate into the second match up as they exploded for 14 runs in the first inning. NCU could not find an answer for the Yellowjacket's offense as they would fall 27-0 in the second contest to close the night out.
GAME ONE RECAP
Emma Bushey (0-1) received the starting nod for the Rams as they began their 2019 campaign. Baldwin Wallace scored 3 runs to jump out to an early lead and they did not look back as they continued to score runs in every inning. The Rams found some offensive momentum late with three runs in the 5th inning, but were unable to extend the contest as they fell 16-3.Emily Loop and Rachel Loukinen led the team each finishing with one hit and knocking in one run.
GAME TWO RECAP
Ali Cornelius took the mound for the Rams in the second contest with the Yellowjackets. Baldwin Wallace was locked in from the first pitch, exploding with 14 runs in the first inning. The Yellowjackets continued to add to their lead as they finished with 20 total its throughout the ball game. Rams connected on a few pitches from the plate late in the ballgame as Emily Loop and Rachel Loukinen found a few holes in the defense. Unfortunatley, NCU was unable to muster up much of a comeback as they would eventually fall to the Yellowjackets by a score of 27-0.

NCU continues their spring trip with another doubleheader tomorrow afternoon as they matchup with Brevard College. The first pitch for the two games are set for 3:30 and 6:00 p.m. (MST).
