Box Score 2 TUCSON, Ariz. – North Central University (NCU) was back in action under the overcast skies of Tuscon, Arizona, with another doubleheader. The Rams were matched up with Northwestern college in the first of two games. Northwestern exploded for a 19 run first inning which propelled them to a run away victory of 27-0. In the second of two games, the Rams battled with Baldwin Wallace once again. The Rams hung in there with the Yellowjackets, but were unable to manufacture much offense as they would fall by a score of 8-0.
GAME ONE RECAP
Northwestern College was impressive from the initial first pitch. The Red Raiders scored 19 runs in the first inning, making it paramount for the Rams to score and to score quickly. NCU was unable to produce on the offensive side of the plate, as they saw Northwestern continue to bring runners across the plate. The Red Raiders were able to add a few more insurance runs late in the ball game as they cruised past the Rams for a 28-0 victory giving Ali Cornelius (0-2) the loss in her second start of the season. Emma Bushey led all Rams hitters with a double.
GAME TWO RECAP
Four the third time in four days, the Rams battled the Yellowjackets of Baldwin Wallace. The Yellowjackets used their momentum from the previous matchups as they broke out to a 3-0 lead after the first inning. Emma Bushey (L,0-3) was on the mound for her second time against the Jackets and could not find much of an answer for their hitters Bushey allowed 7 earned runs on 10 hits in her 4.0 innings pitched as she suffered her third loss of the season by a score of 8-0 in five innings. The Rams finished with two hits in the ballgame, led by Emily Loop and Carissa Garza.
Next Up
North Central University will battle in a doubleheader for one last time in Arizona tomorrow morning. The Rams will first play Cornell (11:00 a.m. MST), followed by a matchup with Siena Heights (1:30 p.m. MST)
