Box Score 2 PLYMOUTH, Minn. – North Central University (NCU) hosted Crown College on Saturday afternoon from the Plymouth Creek Dome as a part of Senior Day for the Ram's lone senior,
Stephanie Caravalho. The Rams were a very tough test early on for the Storm, but a late game offensive explosion of sx runs in the 4th inning, ending game one in early fashion with a 8-0 victory for Crown. Game two was much of the same as the two battled close in the early going but Crown produced a few huge offensive innings as they finished the sweep with a 15-4 victory.
GAME ONE RECAP
The Storm were the first two answer in game number one, knocking home a pair of runs in the first two innings. After falling behind in the early going, starter, Emma Bushey (L, 2-13) seemed to find her command holding Crown scoreless in the 3rd inning. After allowing just two runs in the first three innings, the Rams still found themselves trailing 2-0 due to their inability to manufacture any hits as the team finished with just two hits throughout the ball game. With the NCU offense still looking for a spark,Crown produced the proverbial dagger of an inning with an explosion of six runs on six total hits in the top half of the 4th to run away with the 8-0 victory in just five innings.
GAME TWO RECAP
Game number two started in similar fashion with the Storm drawing first blood, but the Rams answered back quickly in the 2nd inning to knot the game up at 1-1. After seemingly flipping the momentum, Crown stole it right back with a massive nine run inning in which they tallied nine total hits, highlighted by a grand slam over the right field netting. The Rams continued to battle, but pitcher, Ali Cornelius (L, 1-10) could not find an answer for the awakened Storm offense. The Rams made some noise late in the ball game as they produced four runs in the 4th inning, but could not quite come all the way back as they fell 15-4 in game number two.
