Box Score 2 MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - North Central University (NCU) hosted one of the hottest teams in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) on Tuesday afternoon as the Vikings of Bethany Lutheran College headed to town. The Vikings entered the afternoon a perfect 10-0 in conference play, poised to continue their hot streak. Bethany was the first to strike in game one and continued to roll allowing just one late run to the Vikings en route to the 9-1 game one victory. The Rams could not find an answer for the Vikings in game number two as Bethany kept their foot on the gas pedal cruising to a 15-0 victory and the series sweep.
GAME ONE RECAP
Pitcher, Emma Bushey, received the starting nod in game number one and seemed un phased by the Vikings in the early going holding the Vikings scoreless in the first frame, but the Vikings exploded for eight runs on seven hits, highlighted by two triples in the inning. Bushey was able to find her stride once again and hold the Rams to just the one run in the final three innings, but NCU could not find a spark from the plate. The Rams mustered one run in the in the fourth inning but finished with just one hit in the ball game as they could not get a rally started, eventually falling by a score of 9-1.
GAME TWO RECAP
The Vikings offensive momentum carried into game number two as they continued a steady string of runs, scoring in bunches in the first four innings. As the Vikings racked up 16 total hits in the game, the BLC Pitchers continued to keep the Rams hitters at bay, making it very difficult for NCU to get anything going. The combination of three Viking's pitchers held NCU to just three hits in game number two. The Vikings were held scoreless in the final inning, but the Rams were unable to produce any late game offense as they fell 15-0 in the second game of the afternoon.
