MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The North Central University (NCU) athletics department is proud to announce the official launch of the NCU Athletics Hall of Fame. The Athletic Hall of Fame is held in reserve as North Central University's highest athletic recognition. It seeks to honor alumni, coaches, teams, athletic administrators, and friends of the University who have demonstrated exceptional athletic and personal achievement and distinctive contributions to the advancement of NCU Athletics.

"One of the core values for our department is tradition and we will continue to find ways to honor those that have built this program. We talk about it often but we would not be here unless those that came before us paved the way. I personally can't wait to induct our first class in the Fall of 2021." Said Director of Athletics, Travis Whipple. 

A formal call for nominations will be sent out each January and will remain open throughout the year. The nomination process begins with any individual submitting an official Hall of Fame Nomination Form online. Inductees will be selected by a nominating committee through a formal, anonymous ballot process and thereafter approved by the AD and university leadership. Nominations will be accepted until March 1 to be in consideration for that year's inductee class, and all following nominations submitted after March 1 will be reviewed and in consideration for the following year's induction class. The Hall of Fame Nominating Committee will consist of various members with institutional, historic, and athletic knowledge. The Committee is being formed and will be appointed by the AD. This group will be responsible for the recommendation of the Athletic Hall of Fame inductees each year. The eligibility requirements for athletes, coaches, teams, or friends of NCU athletics can be found in the Hall of Fame Guidelines as well. 

In conjunction with establishing tradition within the Athletic Hall of Fame, an induction ceremony will be held each October at the annual Partners for Progress event. During this ceremony, each inductee will be presented with an award and will be honored by being showcased in the "Athletics Hall of Fame" display. In addition to this, the member will also be featured alongside other inductees on the Hall of Fame Members page.
