NCU Track & Field Shows Out At the CSP Holst Invite

St. Paul, MN -- Today, North Central University's Men's and Women's Track and Field teams participated in the Holst Invitational Meet hosted by Concordia University St. Paul, their third outdoor meet of the season. The event was marked by numerous athletes achieving personal bests and recording competitive times. Freshman Kristen Ragasa also qualified for the NCCAA National Meet with a triple jump of 10.20 meters. 
 
Sprints:
 
On the women's side, freshman Neveah Henderson led the team in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.75 seconds. Brycelyn Brewster led the team in the 200-meter dash with a time of 28.25 seconds and Serena Lanes led the team in the 400-meter with a time of 1:04.06. Ramiyah Words ran the 100 Hurdles with a time of 19.10 seconds. She also ran the 400m Hurdles and got a time of 1:20.90. 
 
For the Men, Nehemiah Juaire ran the 100-meter race hitting a time of 11.80 seconds. Ja'Corey Jazzmere also led the team in the 200-meter dash running a time of 25.08. Derek Burgin led the team in the 400-meter with a time of 51.80, finishing 3rd overall at the meet. Michael Herr-Zielke ran the 400 Hurdles with a new season-best time of 1:06.57.
 
Distance:

For the women's team, freshman Avah Kraushaar ran the women's 5k in a time of 21:03.91 to set a new PR. Jessica Redman ran the 3,000m Steeplechase with a time of 13:35.66 (3rd in UMAC). Savi Rael led the team running a time of 2:29.83 in the 800-meter.
 
On the men's side, David Bjorge ran the 10k and completed it with a time of 38:23.03 (3rd in UMAC). Garrett Converse ran the 3,000-meter Steeplechase with a time of 10:51.21 (5th in UMAC). He also led in the 800-meter with a time of 2:07.77.
 
Throws:

MiCayla Jones was the top performer for the Rams women's team, breaking her program record in the hammer throw with a new PR mark of 35.58 meters and a throw of 8.55 meters in the shot put. Grace King excelled in javelin and discus, leading the team with throws of 22.94m meters and a personal best of 32.33m, respectively.
 
Leading the men was Isaac Weiers, who threw a season best of 40.60m in the javelin throw.
 
Jumps:
 
Kristen Ragasa led the team for the women's side in triple jump with a new personal best distance of 10.20m (2nd in UMAC), which qualified her for NCCAA Nationals. She also jumped 4.29 meters in the long jump.

Looking Ahead:

Both Track & Field Teams will compete at the Gary Wilson Invite hosted by the University of Minnesota on Wednesday, April 24th.
