Rams Battle Tough Conditions in Spring Opener at Upper Iowa

Waterloo, IA -- North Central University (NCU) Men's Golf kicked off its spring season at the Upper Iowa Invite hosted by Upper Iowa University at the Sunnyside Country Club in Waterloo, Iowa. Round one of this originally scheduled two-day event was cut short due to lightning. In round two, the Rams posted a team score of 351 (+63) in the cold and windy conditions to place 12th overall.

Despite challenging weather conditions and a shortened event, North Central battled through a cold and windy second round to post a team score of 351 (+63), placing 12th out of 12 teams in a competitive 68-player field. Leading the way for the Rams was freshman Kaden Dunton, who turned in an 83 (+11) to finish tied for 40th overall, highlighted by a steady 41 on the front nine. Sophomore Greg Salinas followed with an 88 (+16), placing 57th, while sophomore Hector Avila carded an 89 (+17) to tie for 58th. Junior Joe Stanton rounded out the next scoring spot with a 91 (+19), finishing tied for 63rd, and junior Ashton Stansfield posted a 94 (+22) to place 67th.
