LAKEVILLE, Minn - The North Central University women's tennis team dropped an Upper Midwest Athletic Conference matchup on Thursday night as they fell to Minnesota-Morris 8-1. Nicole Swanson was the lone win for the Rams as she remains undefeated on the season after her win against Mackenzie Burris in the tiebreaker set.

Despite not having top singles player in freshman Anne Clarke who is out due to injury, the Rams fought hard in the loss to Minnesota- Morris. Emily Loop played in the top singles spot for the Rams as she fell in straight sets to Maddie Johnson. Maddie Meetz played in the second singles spot against Kate Obright. Obright edged Meets in both sets 6-4, 6-4. Erin Oellerrich dropped both sets 6-0, 6-0 as she played in the fourth singles spot. Rachel Cribb played in the sixth singles spot and fell 6-0, 6-0. Swanson was the main bright spot of the evening for the Rams as she won the second set in dominating fashion with a 6-1 win after dropping the first set 3-6. In the tiebreaker set it would be all Swanson as she picked up another singles win.

In the doubles matchups Sierra Hunter and Maddie Meetz dropped a close matchup 8-5 in the top doubles matchup of the evening. Erin Oellerrich and Nicole Swanson fell 8-0 in the second doubles matchup as Ellie Tieszen and Emily Loop dropped the third doubles match 8-2.

The loss moves the Rams overall record to 1-4 on the season. NCU will be back in action on Saturday March 23 as they will host Bethany Lutheran College in another UMAC matchup that is slated to begin at 2:00 p.m.
