Box Score ST. PAUL, Minn - The North Central University women's tennis traveled to Morris, Minnesota, on Thursday afternoon to do battle with the Cougars of Minnesota Morris for their final matches of the 2019 regular season. The two competed for much of the afternoon, but rain and wet courts ended the dual early for the two clubs. With the majority of the matches finished, the two ended competition early with the Cougars topping the Rams by a final score of 6-0
Anne Clarke ,
Madalyn Meetz, and Sierra Hunter competing in the top three singles slots for the Rams but all three had their matches cut short, with all three registering no final decision in the match.
Nicole Swanson played in the no.4 dingles position for the Rams as she fell in straight sets, 6-1 and 6-0.
Erin Oellerich and Rachel Cribb rounded out the singles players for the Rams as Oellerich fell 6-0 and 6-0 in the no.5 position and Rachel Cribb lost 6-1, and 6-0 in the no.6 position as both were able to finish their play.
In the doubles matches
Anne Clarke competed alongside partner,
Madalyn Meetz in the top doubles position, they were able to steal one point from the Cougars, but fell 8-1.
Sierra Hunter and
Nicole Swanson lost 8-1 as they were slotted in the no.2 doubles position. Erin Ollerrich partnered with Rachel Cribb in the final doubles slot to round out the afternoon for the Rams. The two kept it close with the group from Morris, but were edged ever so slightly as they fell 8-5.
