Swanson Remains Unbeaten in UMAC play as Rams Fall to Vikings

LAKEVILLE, Minn - North Central University (NCU) women's tennis took on Bethany Lutheran College (BLC) in UMAC play on Saturday. The Rams dropped the conference matchup by a score of 7-2. Nicole Swanson remained unbeaten in singles play in conference matches as she won in straight sets.

Sierra Hunter competed for NCU in the No.1 singles position. Hunter dropped the first set 4-6 before winning the second set 6-0. In the tiebreaker Hunter fell 10-2. Maddie Meetz and Emily Loop both fell in straight sets in the No.2 and No.3 matches. Nicole Swanson won in straight sets 6-4, 6-4 to push her season record in singles play to 5-1 overall and 3-0 in conference play. Erin Oellerich fell in straight sets in the No.5 singles position. Rachel Cribb was the other winner for the Rams as she won in the No.6 singles position in straight sets.

In the doubles portion of the dual the Rams would drop all three matchups. Sierra Hunter and Maddie Meetz fell in the No.1 doubles matchup. Emily Loop and Nicole Swanson fell in the No.2 doubles position as Erin Oellerich and Rachel Cribb rounded out the Rams doubles teams in the No.3 doubles match.

The Rams will take to the road on Tuesday March 25 as they will head south to Iowa for a pair of non-conference matches. NCU will take on NAIA Grand View University at 1:00 p.m. and then play Simpson College at 4:00 p.m.
