INDIANOLA, IA - The North Central University women's tennis team was in action on Tuesday as they took on Grand View University and Simpson College in a pair non-conference matches. NCU fell to Grand View 9-0 before falling to Simpson 7-2.
In the match against Grand View the Rams struggled to get anything going in all nine matches as Grand View set the pace. In the match against Simpson
Erin Oellerich led the way on the singles side along with
Nicole Swanson. Maddie Meetz played in the top singles spot, losing 4-6, 1-6.
Sierra Hunter and
Emily Loop played in the no.2 and no.3 singles positions.
Nicole Swanson played in the no.4 singles position and lost in the tiebreaker portion of the match. Swanson lost the first set 1-6 before storming back to take the second set 6-3. In the tiebreaker she fell 10-6 in a tightly contested match with Sarah Barry of Simpson. Rachel Cribb rounded out the singles players for NCU as she played in the no.6 singles spot.
In the doubles portion of the match, Maddie Meetz and
Sierra Hunter played in the first doubles position.
Emily Loop and
Nicole Swanson played in the second doubles position in which they were victorious 8-6. Erin Ollerich and Rachel Cribb rounded out the doubles teams for NCU.
The Rams will be back in action on Friday at 4:00 p.m. as they are scheduled to host Saint Scholastica in an Upper Midwest Athletic Conference matchup in Lakeville.
