LAKEVILLE, Minn - The North Central University (NCU) women's tennis team was in action on Friday evening in an Upper Midwest Athletic Conference matchup with the Saints of The College of Saint Scholastica (CSS).
Nicole Swanson was the lone winner for NCU as they fell 8-1 to the Saints.
Maddie Meetz and
Sierra Hunter played in the no.1 and no.2 positions for the Rams as each fell in straight sets.
Nicole Swanson played in the no.3 position for the Rams. Swanson fell 1-6 in the first set before picking up a 6-4 win in the second set to force a tiebreaker. Swanson picked up the 10-7 win in the tiebreaker to earn her fifth straight UMAC singles win. Swanson remains undefeated in UMAC play at 5-0.
Erin Oellerich fell in the no.4 singles position for NCU. Rachel Cribb lost a hard fought match in the no.5 position. Anna Hartwig made her season debut as she fell in the no.6 singles position.
On the doubles side of the match,
Sierra Hunter and Maddie Meetz played in the no.1 doubles position together.
Nicole Swanson and
Erin Oellerich teamed up in the no.2 doubles position. Anna Hartwig and Ellie Tieszen played together in the no.3 doubles position for NCU.
The Rams will be back in action on Friday, April 5 as they will travel to Wisconsin-Superior for a UMAC matchup slated to begin at 4:00 p.m.
