Meetz Picks Up Win As Rams Drop Non-Conference Match

Box Score ST. PAUL, Minn - The North Central University women's tennis team was in action on Tuesday night in a non-conference matchup with the Eagles of the University of Northwestern St. Paul. The Rams fell 8-1 to the Eagles as Maddy Meetz picked up the solo win in singles play.

Anne Clarke returned to play for the Rams from a multiple week injury recovery. Clarke played in the no.1 singles position for the Rams as she fell narrowly 7-6 and 6-3 in both sets. Maddy Meets picked up the victory in the no.2 singles position as she fell 7-6 in the first set, won 7-6 in the second set and won 10-7 in the tiebreaker in a great match. Sierra Hunter and Nicole Swanson played in the no.3 and no.4 singles positions as each fell in straight sets. Erin Ollerich and Rachel Cribb rounded out the singles players as both fell in straight sets to quality opponents for UNW. 

Anne Clarke and Maddy Meetz played in the top doubles position together as they dropped a hard fought match 6-8. Sierra Hunter and Nicole Swanson fell in the no.2 doubles position 2-8. Ollerich and Cribb played together in the no.3 doubles spot and fell 2-8 to round out the scorers for NCU. 

The Rams will be back in action this Saturday, April 13 as they take on Crown College in an Upper Midwest Athletic Conference matchup slated to begin at 11:00 a.m.
